I started at Equest in the fall of 2005, as a volunteer. I mainly worked in the daytime classes as a leader and side-walker. I have always loved horses and thought this would be a great way to get my horse fix as well as helping riders with their therapy. After my first volunteer orientation I was hooked! I could not wait for the next class. The other volunteers, the instructors and the clients kept me coming back.

One long time rider in particular always had a hug for me and could not wait to shoot some baskets each time he came to the center (he is pretty good too!)

In the fall of 2007 I was asked to join the barn staff, cleaning stalls and feeding the horses. I have been considering training to become a certified instructor and for a time was an instructor in training. Currently my 2nd job and family responsibilities have put my training on hold. I hope to continue my training at some point in the future.

I have been married 21 years and have 3 teenagers at home who keep me very busy, as well as 2 dogs, my horse, and my 5 chickens, I also work another part-time job which takes up the rest of my free time.
