ABOUT EQUEST

Mission Statement: We improve quality of life through equine-based therapy to physically, mentally and socially/emotionally challenged individuals. Our unique program integrates academic, social and physical skills, using the horse as a catalyst.

Who We Are: Equest center for Therapeutic Riding is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization located in Rockford, Michigan. Established in 1990, Equest has since become an industry-leading PATH International certified equine therapeutic riding center that serves over 200 individuals ages 2-100 with physical, mental, social, and emotional disabilities each week. What we do would not be possible without the help of our 34 therapy horses and dedicated crew of volunteers that assist with 12 equine-assisted programs tailored to the specific needs of our community.

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?

Donate: 100% of funds raised support our programs and desperately needed rider scholarships to help us continue to provide the life-changing benefits of equine-assisted therapy to individuals with disabilities in West Michigan and beyond! Those who give at any level will receive exciting Equest swag (pictured below) as a thank you for the generous donation.

Please Help Us Spread The Word: We need your help spreading the word about Equest Center’s powerful mission and partnership with the Amway River Bank Run. Whether that involves running the race to benefit Equest and our riders, wearing your Equest swag, or sharing our story with friends, family, coworkers, etc. – it all helps tremendously! Every act, no matter how big or small, of spreading the word about Equest has the potential to reach so many and have such a positive impact on our mission.

Volunteer: Get a leg up on your training by volunteering at the center to help as a sidewalker, horse leader, or to assist with a number of other barn and office tasks. Volunteering at Equest is not only great for your mind and body, but for your heart, as well!
